A General Review of our Games

There is a game for everyone!

Singles ALWAYS welcome.

Partners available with 60 minute notice; no notice needed for Newplicate games.

Weekday Morning Open Handicap Game (Section A):  

These games are usually 1-2 sections, open to all MP levels, and offer a handicap to "level the playing field".  Read more about handicaps here.  These games consist of 21-25 boards (usually 24) at a pace of about 7 minutes a board.

Weekday Morning Limited Game (Section B):

These games are usually 1-2 sections games and are popular with players with less than 1500 MP, by average of partnership. These games are stratified and consist of 21-25 boards (usually 24) at a pace of about 8 minutes a board (slightly slower paced than the open game).

Weekday Evening Open Games: 

These games are usually 1-section games.  All level of players play together. These games consist of 21-25 boards (usually 24) at a pace of about 7 minutes a board.

Weekend Afternoon Open Games:

These games are usually 2-section games. All level of players play together. These games consist of 21-25 boards (usually 24) at a pace of about 7 minutes a board.

New-plicate Practice/Learning games:

These are supervised playing sessions geared to beginners who need to practice and who need occasional help from the director in bidding.  The game is very relaxed and a total of 15-18 boards are played at a pace of approx. 10-12 minutes a board.  Any player can play in these games, keeping in mind that they may not qualify for MP if they have more than the limit. 

Ease into Duplicate/Mentorship games:

These games are smaller and usually 1-section.  These games are for seasoned beginners who are ready to learn the excitement of competition.  The game is still very relaxed and a total of 15-18 boards are played at a pace of approx. 10-12 minutes a board.  Any player can play in these games, keeping in mind that they may not qualify for MP if they have over 499 MP.

The Individual aka "Indie":

These games are usually 1-section and consists of 18-21 boards (usually 21) at a pace of about 8 minutes a board. This is a learning/meet-a-new-partner event. Come without a partner and challenge yourself to meet new players, play with everyone (a different partner EVERY hand) and have a great time playing bridge!  

A Bridge teacher and mentors are present to review and discuss hands to help further your improvement.  Lecture before the game on bridge topics.

Social Bridge or Rubber Bridge Games:

These are private tables of bridge for you and your friends to enjoy your own game, at your own pace, with or without scoring.  You can customize the time that you and your friends wish to play.  Click here to reserve your table!

ALL PLAYERS are asked to arrive 15 minute prior to any game time to insure that our directors can properly set-up and start each game on time.

 

Arriving late risks disrupting the movement for the other players and possibly forfeiting your place in the game.

Card Fees Explained

All DAYTIME GAMES are just for the regular Card fee as we absorb the surcharges* for the following special events:

  • Club Charity Games (XX Pts)

  • Club Championshship Games (XXX Pts)

  • STaC Events (Silver Pts)

  • Upgraded Club Championships (XXX Pts)

  • ACBL Membership Games (XXX Pts)

  • Sagamore Cup Championship (XXX Pts)

  • Titan's Cup (XXX Pts)

*NOTE: House players, Guests of the club, Pros (non-paying & reduced fee teachers), and Players using Free Plays will be charged the imposed add'l fees.  

As our EVENING GAMES are already discounted, they are subject to surcharges for:

  • STaC Events (Silver Pts)

  • Inter-Club Championships (XXX Pts)

For ACBL & WBF Special Events, for DAYTIME or EVENING GAMES you will be charged the imposed surcharge over the regular card fee for these events:

  • WBF World Wide Bridge Event (50/50 Red)

  • North American Pair Qualifiers (50/50 Red)

  • Grand National Team Qualifiers (50/50 Red)

  • ACBL International Fund #1-4 (XXX Pts)

  • ACBL-Wide Charity Games (XXX pts)

  • ACBL-Junior Fund Games (XXX pts)

  • ACBL-Grassroots Games (XXX pts)

  • Instant Matchpoint Game (Gold Pts/XXX)

  • ACBL-Senior Pairs (50/50 Red)

  • Regional at Clubs (Gold Pts)
